8 Bit Microcontroller

This programme is aimed at teaching the student the underlying technology that makes embedded systems possible - The Microcontroller. Two of the most popular microcontrollers in the industry are covered - the RISC architecture based PIC series of microcontrollers from Microchip and the CISC architecture based 8051 microcontroller from Intel.

The module is an extensive theory cum laboratory exercise with more emphasis being based on practical lab ercises in Assembly and Embedded C .The training program is designed to cater to the current industry requirements, where professionals are expected to be proficient in both ASM and Embedded C programming. Some of the concepts covered are

  • Detailed Architecture
  • Hardware Interfacing
  • Programming Using Assembly
  • Programming Using Embedded C
  • Data Communication
  • Data Acquisition
  • Project Work

The module is structured in a way as to enable the student to accelerate his/her learning curve and to become efficient in all aspects of Microcontroller based system development and design.

RTOS

The program aims to provide understanding of both fundamental concepts and advanced topics in embedded systems especially in real-time systems and networks. This is primarily a hands-on laboratory, using two modern RTOS'es,VxWorks and RTOS32. The student will be presented with technologies, methodologies and techniques that will promote rapid acclimatization to an industrial embedded systems environment or an embedded systems research laboratory. Some of the concepts covered are

  • Advanced C Programming
  • Modern OS Concepts
  • Real Time System Concepts
  • VxWorks Programming
  • RTOS32 Programming
  • Device Driver Programming
  • Using The Above Two RTOS'es
  • Debugging Techniques
  • Porting Techniques
  • Project Work

16/32 Bit Microcontroller

The embedded controller market has traditionally focused on 8-bit microprocessors, but the growing complexity of many control requirements in sophisticated products indicates a need to move to more powerful processors. The ARM and its variants offer manufacturers the opportunity to move directly to 32-bit controllers at low cost and with a great deal of flexibility for designing custom controllers. The ARM7TDMI core is the industry’s most widely used 32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor. Optimized for cost- and power-sensitive applications, the ARM7TDMI solution provides the low power consumption, small size, and high performance needed in portable, embedded applications.
Our unique training program on ARM7TDMI has been designed based on industry requirements and provides hands on training on two of the most popular ARM7 processors from Samsung and Philips. On conclusion of the training program, trainees will have a thorough understanding of the architecture, instruction set and peripheral programming of ARM&TDMI processor. Some of the concepts covered are
  • ARM7 TDMI Architecture
  • Operating Modes of ARM7 TDMI
  • Instruction Set
  • Hardware Interfacing
  • Programming Using Assembly
  • Programming Using Embedded C
  • Introduction EMBLITZ ARM Development Board
  • Project Work
